BDO Global Lab, 18 September 2026: Hermesia loses its top-tier loot in English
Global Lab's 18 September patch takes Hermesia Inner Castle off the top-tier zone list. Hermesia trades its eleven rarest drops for higher rates on Twilight of the End and the origin crystals. Pearl Abyss also previews a Common Skill, one skill every class in Black Desert will share, though it is announced rather than shipped. La Orzeca's Paint joins Allan Serbin's Landscape, so the outfit no longer ties you to Kamasylvia and O'dyllita. A Treasure Codex arrives, barter and sailing get a remote wharf, and seven Leveling Aid quests are retired. Last week's 11 September recap covers the patch that closed Inner Edania's story.
The notice is mostly Korean. Pearl Abyss embedded official English for the Common Skill introduction, the La Orzeca overview, the Leveling Aid quest removal, the barter improvements and the Treasure Codex. Everything else, including every table below, is translated here.

Hermesia Inner Castle loses its top-tier tag
This is the money change. Hermesia Inner Castle is removed from the top-tier zone list, the same treatment Gavinya Coastal Cliff and Aphrodon Temple got on 4 September. Losing the tag costs the zone its rarest loot and buys back higher rates on what remains.
Six items get better drop rates, and not every monster gets every line:
| Item | Markthanan's Subordinate and Daughter | Subdued Enforcer Slave | Subdued Miner and Porter Slaves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twilight of the End - Earring | +12% | +12% | +12% |
| Twilight of the End - Ring | +11% | +11% | +11% |
| BON Wandering Origin Crystal | +60% | +60% | not listed |
| BON Origin Shard | +55% | +55% | +55% |
| Silent Crystal of Origin | +50% | not listed | not listed |
| Silent Fragment of Origin | +100% | +100% | +100% |
Every figure is stated against the current rate, not as a new absolute chance. Sealed Black Magic Crystal is added to the zone's loot list.
Eleven items stop dropping once the tag is gone:
- Refined Origin of Predation
- Refined Essence of Predation
- Crimson Primordial Pigment - Sovereign
- Violet Primordial Pigment - Sovereign
- Violet Primordial Pigment - Edana
- Sunset Primordial Pigment - Edana
- Crimson Primordial Luster - Sovereign
- Violet Primordial Luster - Sovereign
- Violet Primordial Luster - Edana
- Sunset Primordial Luster - Edana
- Corrupt Oil of Immortality
The 12% and 11% on Twilight of the End land on top of what the 14 August patch already gave. That patch raised the same two accessories by 30% at Markthanan's Subordinates and by 24% at the Subdued Enforcer Slaves, which our 14 August article charted. It did not cover the Subdued Miner and Porter Slaves.
One skill for every class, announced
Pearl Abyss used this notice to introduce a Common Skill: one skill that every character in Black Desert will use, with the same effects and the same animation. They tie it to the finale of Black Desert's Act 1 story. Their own English says it knocks monsters down, dismounts Adventurers, and is still being worked on to make it useful in PvP. They are also levelling out hit detection and combo flow so the skill behaves the same on every class.
The Korean says the skill is scheduled to appear, and promises news soon. Nothing in the notice puts it in this build. No damage figure, no cooldown and no acquisition method is given, and class balance changes are listed as still in progress separately.

La Orzeca joins the Landscape
La Orzeca is a rare outfit crafted from materials gathered in the Kamasylvia and O'dyllita monster zones. Pearl Abyss's English explains the problem: those two regions were the top-tier zones when the outfit launched, so the materials piled up on their own. They are not where anyone grinds now.
La Orzeca becomes an entry in Allan Serbin's Landscape, which is how its paint is collected outside the zones where it already drops. After the official server update, the Landscape Paint Selection Box and its event version both let you choose La Orzeca's Paint.

Eleven zones are listed. In them, La Orzeca's Paint drops as ordinary loot, and the La Orzeca Landscape does not apply. The notice attaches both sentences to that single list:
| Zone | Dehkia's Lantern variants also listed |
|---|---|
| Ash Forest | Lantern and Lantern II |
| Olun's Valley | Lantern and Lantern II |
| Tunkuta | Lantern |
| Thornwood Forest | Lantern |
| Crypt of Resting Thoughts | none |
Treasure Codex
Treasures in Black Desert take a long time and real effort to complete. Until now nothing in the client told you what existed or what each one needed. The Treasure Codex is a new screen under Menu (ESC) then Adventure (F5) that lists them.
It shows every treasure that includes a Masterpiece quest, the key crafting materials for each, and an achievement rate based on which of those materials you are holding. Selecting the grind spot info or the obtain method opens the zones a material drops in. When you hold every material, the Yaz's Combination Pouch button opens the pouch with them already loaded.
The Codex also records the date each treasure was first completed, and backfills that date for treasures finished before the update. Allan Serbin's Landscape gains a Treasure Codex button, and picking a Landscape name shows the grind spot information for treasure materials from that zone.

Barter and sailing get a remote wharf
The whole wharf manager comes to the deck of a large ship. Once you arrive near an island's wharf manager you no longer need to disembark. From the deck you can talk, accept and complete quests, buy and sell, and repair mount gear and durability. The wharf functions come with it: repair and resupply, crew management and cargo loading. Story exchange, depositing a ship at the wharf and remote retrieval still need you on land.

Four smaller changes ride along. The wharf NPC's repair and resupply are merged into one button. Storage items can be sold from the Load Cargo menu through the remote wharf. Mounts can be recovered from the Stable and Wharf UI even when they are already taken out. Ship pathfinding was improved to stop mounts stalling on certain routes during auto-run.
Barter information now shows the distance to each trade route, not just the direction, which was the thing that sent people on accidental ocean crossings. A "Go to nearby town or wharf" button moves into the Barter information window and out of the large ship's mount information window.

Event Horizon's wormhole gimmick
Three changes to how the special gimmick rolls:
- The first wormhole no longer produces it at all.
- The third wormhole produces it at 1.3 times the chance.
- If the second wormhole produced none, the third produces it at roughly 2.1 times.
The notice gives no baseline for either multiplier, and does not say whether the 2.1 replaces the 1.3 or compounds with it.
Seven Leveling Aid quests retired
Pearl Abyss's English is blunt about why: HYPERBOOST does the same job faster, and the old Leveling Aid quests now confuse new Adventurers. Seven quests can no longer be accepted and drop off the recommended quest list. They cover Blackstar weapon, Kharazad accessory, boss gear and armour and weapon reform stone steps. Quests already accepted can still be progressed and completed.
Smaller changes
Monsters stop treating summons as attack targets, with five exceptions: Black Wolf, Gorr, Tett, Ahne and Marg. Pearl Abyss names Woosa's, Nova's and Hashashin's summons as examples of what changes. For anyone grinding a summon class, it is the most useful line in the patch.
Five class fixes land. Giant gets a typo corrected in the description of Flow: Ancient Power. A Corsair skill fired slowly when used from a skill slot, and that is fixed. Its listed controls now match the real ones. Wukong can now chain into the staff extension skill after the Magnus skill Strike 'Em! Agent could be left unable to use control-key skills after firing from a skill slot mid-backstep. Seraphim had combat idle motions that would not chain onward.
Tanning did not pay out WON Dawn Crystal - Life EXP or Crystal of Clarity from Sheep, Feather Wolf, Ferrina or the Elephant family, Rock Elephant excepted. That is fixed. Pearl Abyss will also check tanning records from after the 27 August 2025 maintenance to before the 22 September 2026 maintenance. Anyone affected gets a bundle that grants Crystal of Clarity at a set chance. That window runs just under thirteen months.
Guild alliances can no longer be created while a guild has applied for a node war. Functional outfits made with Merv's Palette are now distinguishable by icon. Outfits made with an exchange coupon gain a line saying Black Spirit's Claw cannot be used on them. The boss information UI now states that world bosses appear on every server except Olvia, Arsha and Arsha: Nameless. Ships fetched from the Sosan Camp wharf manager come out facing outward. Pad Mode's default ring menu is refreshed, keeping any custom setup. A long list of quest and interface fixes covers Hermesia, Magaia, Elvia and the Tachyon's Trace collectibles, and changes no numbers on the site.
What this changes for tracking
Hermesia Inner Castle is measured in our grind spot data at 2,693,035,859 silver/hour casual, 3,143,708,999 high and 3,458,079,898 top, at an entry requirement of 405 AP and 485 DP. Those figures were captured while the zone still had its top-tier loot, so it is the first baseline to re-measure once this reaches official servers.
Our loot table for the zone carries three of the eleven items the patch removes. On the 18 September North America price snapshot they are worth:
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Sunset Primordial Pigment - Edana | 10,800,000,000 |
| Sunset Primordial Luster - Edana | 108,000,000 |
| Corrupt Oil of Immortality | 37,300,000 |
Those three rows come out when this ships, and Sealed Black Magic Crystal, at 5,600,000, goes in. Gavinya Coastal Cliff, Aphrodon Temple and Zephyrus Castle carry none of the eleven, and all three already carry Sealed Black Magic Crystal, so the shape of the edit is settled.
Twilight of the End - Earring and Ring both sit at 515,000,000 on the same snapshot, and both are already in our item data. Their 12% and 11% increases apply to drop rates we do not publish per monster, so the effect reaches the site through the zone baseline, not through the item.
All eleven La Orzeca zones already have rows and measured baselines in our spot data, from Thornwood Forest at a 756 AP cap to Dehkia 2 Ash Forest at 1,540. La Orzeca's Paint and Allan Serbin's Landscape are not in our item data, so the new Landscape entry adds nothing to track yet. It does mean paint income stops being a reason to pick those eleven zones over anything else.
Event Horizon has a spot row at a 2,600 AP cap and still no measured silver figure, so the wormhole change moves nothing on the site today. It remains the obvious gap to fill.
